Lord Mayor of Chester Razia Daniels and SCB

A wonderful ceremony held in the highly decorated Victorian council Chamber of the Town Hall with speeches by the outgoing Lord Mayor and incoming Lord Mayor, both ladies. Razia Daniels who was taking office is an energetic woman, born in Tanzania Africa brought up by her grandparents and moved to the UK at the age of 17. She is an engaging, petite woman who has run businesses all her life and by the proposal speeches much admired and appreciated by her ward constituents in Handbridge over the past 11 years. The ceremony was wonderful, full of rites and historical tones. The Lord Mayor of Chester is also Admiral of The River Dee, and the saying goes that if they fall in, they are to hold the chain of office above their heads when drowning, as it is easier to replace the Mayor than the chain!!!
