I was asked to give the prize at the launch event for this new arts festival in Cheshire. The Sandstone Ridge runs from Frodsham to Whitchurch and the festival ran over 4 days in 4 of the villages and towns on the way – Cholmondeley, Tattenhall, Malpas and Bunbury. The launch included an art exhibition at the ART HUB with 30 local artists and sculptors and was well attended by local figures and our MP Antoinette Sandbach. Millie Thomas from Bishop Heber High School won the competition to design the logo for the festival. One of the most captivating events was a lecture by Lady Milena Grenfell Baines one of the 669 children saved by Sir Nicholas Winton and on the last train out from Czechoslovakia. It was an extraordinary and moving tale held in Malpas Church to a sell-out audience.
